This is
MerCruiser p/n 31- 92366A1. It has 14 roller bearings and is used on all # 1
drives from 1965 - 1983. This bearing is used in conjunction with a vertical
drive shaft which has a pre load pin on the very top of the shaft.
The outside
diameter of this bearing is 1.752 and the inside is .992
All pinion
bearing are installed with the numbers facing upwards.

Gen II
This is
MerCruiser p/n 31- 42647A1. It has 18 roller bearings and is used on all # 1
drives from 1984 - date including Generation II. This bearing is used in
conjunction with a vertical drive shaft which has no pre load pin on the very
top of the shaft.
The outside
diameter of this bearing is 1.752 and the inside is 1.125
All pinion
bearing are installed with the numbers facing upwards.

drives.

diameter of this bearing is 2.130 and the inside is 1.472
