Clutch Dog

This is MerCruiser p/n 52- 853594T ( Old # 52- 66063 &
# 52- 824112 ) sliding clutch dog.

It is used on all #1 drives made from 1972 to Date including Pre-Alpha, Alpha One and Generation II drives.

This clutch is slightly smaller than 1 1/2 inches thick. Drives made before 1972 used clutches which were 1 5/8 thick. We do not stock the older clutches.

Clutch Dog Spring

This is MerCruiser p/n 24-30893 sliding clutch dog spring.

It is used to hold the cross pin ( below ) onto the sliding clutch ( above ) on all #1 drives including Pre-Alpha, Alpha One and Generation II drives.

Clutch Dog Shift Crank

This is MerCruiser p/n 76865 sliding clutch dog shift crank.

It is used on all #1 drives made from 1972 to Date including Pre-Alpha, Alpha One and Generation II drives.

Clutch Dog Castle Nut

This part is not sold separately by MerCruiser.

We make our own nuts to replace castle nuts manufactured by MerCruiser on drives made from 1984 to 1986. These drives did not have castle nuts with the correct heat treat causing them to were down. This made it impossible to adjust the shift cable. It is used on all #1 drives made from 1972 to Date including Pre-Alpha, Alpha One and Generation II drives.
