1968 - 1983 Pre-Alpha - 2 Internal Lines

 

 The below cylinders & parts will not fit Alpha, TR, TRS, Gen II, Bravo or Speedmaster drives. 

 

 Please note - older cylinders which only have (1) trim hose going to each cylinder are no longer available from MerCruiser. The parts are also discontinued 

 

The complete trim cylinder is MerCruiser part # 45706A14. It is used on Pre-Alpha drives only which were made between 1968 - 1983. Each cylinder uses (2) 12 inch trim hoses. 
For the complete trim cylinder order # 1980 - Shipping Wt. is 5 1/2 Lbs.

The outer housing only is MerCruiser part # 77442A1. It is used on Pre-Alpha drives only which were made between 1968 - 1983 and have (2) 12 inch trim hoses.
You can also use your old internal parts and just replace the outer housing.
For the outer housing and threaded end shown order # 1930.
This does not come with any o-rings. Shipping Wt. 2 Lbs.

 

 

 

1968 - 1983  O-Ring Repair Kit

 

This is MerCruiser p/n 25- 60342A2 rebuild kit. It will fit the above trim cylinders used from 1968 thru 1983.

These are sold in a package of (1) each. Order (2) sets to do both cylinders.

This is the piston rod and pivot end for Pre-Alpha (above pictured ) trim cylinders made between 1968 - 1983 only.

This is MerCruiser p/n 45726 rear bearing. It will fit the above trim cylinders used from 1968 thru 1983.

1968 - 1983 Outer Housing - External Lines

 

 

This is MerCruiser p/n 87173A7 trim cylinder empty housing. It was also used from 1968 - 1983 on Pre-Alpha drives. Each of these cylinders take 1 short hose and 1 long hose. This empty trim cylinder does not come with the end cap or o-rings. It is sold in a package of 1 each.

These cylinders take MerCruiser p/n 25-60342A3 o-ring kit ( Order # 42A3 ). 

Note !

The end caps p/n # 87069 for the above cylinder is no longer available from MerCruiser.

The major overhaul repair kit p/n # 87068A1 is also no longer available from MerCruiser.

The same outer housing is used for either port or starboard by plugging (1) rear hole not being used.

This comes from MerCruiser.

 The above cylinders & parts will not fit Alpha, TR, TRS, Gen II, Bravo or Speedmaster drives. 

 

1984 - 1990 Alpha One

These trim cylinders were used between 1984 - 1990. Each cylinder uses one short hose and one long hose.

You can replace the entire cylinder or just replace the outer housing ( shown below ) and reuse your old internal parts. The Alpha outer housing alone does not come with the end cap or any o-rings.

The Alpha complete cylinders ( shown below ) are for the cylinders only. They do not come with the  anchor pins, rubber grommets, zinc anodes, locknuts or washers. These Alpha replacements do not have the 2 tapped holes at the rear of the cylinder for mounting zinc anodes at this time.

These o-rings are used on 1984 - Date -  Alpha One, Generation II, all Bravo and Blackhawk outdrives.

1991 - Date Alpha One/Generation II
Complete Cylinder 

 

These trim cylinders are used on 1991 - Date Alpha One/Generation II drives. Each cylinder uses one short hose and one long hose.

The GLM Marine Generation II complete cylinder comes with the rear zinc anode.

Bravo - Complete Cylinders

 

 

These trim cylinders are used on all Bravo drives including I / II / III & X / XR / XZ. Each cylinder uses one short hose and one long hose.

The GLM Marine Bravo complete cylinder comes with the rear zinc anode installed.

TR/TRS Outer Housing - Internal Lines

 

This is MerCruiser p/n 47342A22. It is the outer housing only and comes with the end cap but no o-rings. 2 short hoses are used on this cylinder.

MerCruiser also made a shorter TR/TRS trim cylinder which has been discontinued.

This item comes from MerCruiser.

O-Ring Kit for above TR/TRS trim cylinders with 1" diameter piston rods is MerCruiser p/n 25-47389A2 ( Order # 7389 ).

2 1/2 inch outside diameter end cap only for above TR/TRS trim cylinder with 1" diameter piston rod is MerCruiser p/n 55825A1 which comes unpainted ( Order # 5825 ).

 

TR/TRS Outer Housing - External Lines

 

This is MerCruiser p/n 87411A6 Port cylinder tube. It is the outer housing only and comes with the end cap but no o-rings. 1 short hose and 1 long hose is used on this cylinder.

This empty cylinder measures
17 1/4 inches long from end to end.

O-Ring kit for TR/TRS trim cylinders with 3/4 diameter piston rods is MerCruiser p/n 25-79871A1

These end caps will fit Alpha, Gen II, Bravo, TR and TRS trim cylinders with external lines.
For the 1.890 head diameter order # 6191
For the 2.080 head diameter order # 8035
These end caps do not come with any o-rings.
