Upper Housing Oil Seal Drivers

These drivers are for installing the 2 vertical oil seals in the upper housing on #1 Mercruiser drives made from 1968 - Date including Pre-Alpha, Alpha One and Generation II drives.

They will not fit Bravo, TR or TRS drives.

This is our 1 piece tool used to install the (1) small ( 1 3/8 O.D. ) vertical oil seal up from the bottom of the upper housing.

Driver Rod

This is MerCruiser p/n 91- 37323 driver rod. It is used with a number of driver heads including the ones below.

It is 12 1/2 inches long and has a 5/8-18 thread on it.

Pre-Alpha & Alpha One

This is MerCruiser p/n 91- 43591T driver head. It is used with the driver rod above to install both vertical seals in the upper housing on 1965 - 1990 Pre-Alpha and Alpha One Drives.

It fits the small ( 1 3/8 O.D. ) from the bottom up and the larger ( 2" O.D. ) seal from the top down.

Generation II

This is MerCruiser p/n 91- 817570T driver head. It is used with the driver rod above to install both vertical seals in the upper housing on 1991 - Date Generation II drives.

Attach the driver rod # 9835 and drive the first seal in from the top of the housing using the longer step on the tool. Then switch the driver rod and install the second seal in from the top of the housing using the shorter step on the tool.
