Individual Pre-Alpha & Alpha Lower Unit Gears

Sometimes when resealing a lower unit you may find that one of your gears has a chip in it or maybe even part of the tooth is missing. This is why we are selling these lower unit gears individually. They have all been sent out and passed magnetic particle inspection and therefore are being sold as is.

 

These Lower gears were used from approx 1965 - 1970. The pinion had 19 teeth and the forward and reverse gears had 32 teeth. None of these gears had part numbers stamped on them during this period. Notice that the forward and reverse gears has a spiral which curves to the left.

These Lower gears were used from approx 1970 - 1978. The pinion has 20 teeth and the forward and reverse gears has 33 teeth. The pinion gear has the p/n 43-61027 - the forward gear has the p/n 43-61025 - the reverse gear has the p/n 43-61026 stamped on it. Notice that the forward and reverse gears has a spiral which curves to the left.

These Lower gears were used from approx 1975 - 1983. The pinion has 17 teeth and the forward and reverse gears has 28 teeth. The pinion gear has the p/n 43-92319 - the forward gear has the p/n 43-96084 or 43-99381 - the reverse gear has the p/n 43-92320 stamped on it. Notice that the forward and reverse gears has a spiral which curves to the left.

 


 

 

These Lower gears were used from approx 1983 - 1991. The pinion has 17 teeth and the forward and reverse gears has 28 teeth. The pinion gear has the p/n 43-42932 - the forward gear has the p/n 43-42933 - the reverse gear has the p/n 43-42934 stamped on it. Notice that the forward and reverse gears has a spiral which curves to the right.
