MerCruiser - Prop Seal Driver Kit

This kit is used to install both prop seals in the lower unit without having to remove the outdrive from the boat.

To remove your old seals, you will have the drill 2 small holes thru the center of your old seals without hitting either the prop shaft or the inside diameter of the lower bearing carrier.
After drilling the holes, you will have to use 2 sheet metal screws to pry out 1 seal at a time.

To install the new seals, slide the first new seal onto the prop shaft and use the longer step on the drive head to drive in the first seal to the correct depth. Now slide the second seal ( fish line cutter ) onto the prop shaft and use the shorter step on the drive head to drive the second seal to the correct depth.

This tool will fit all #1 MerCruiser outdrives including Pre-Alpha "R", Alpha One "MR", Generation II and also TRS. It will not fit TR, Bravo I, II or III.

Pre-Alpha & Alpha One - Prop Seal Driver

This tool is MerCruiser p/n 91- 31108T. The bearing carrier must be removed to use this tool.

Slide the first new seal onto the longer end of the tool and drive it in to the correct depth, then slide the second seal ( fish line cutter )onto the shorter end of the tool and drive it in to the correct depth.

This tool will fit all #1 MerCruiser outdrives including Pre-Alpha "R", Alpha One "MR", Generation II and also TRS. It will not fit TR, Bravo I, II or III.

Bravo One - Prop Seal & Bearing Cup Driver

This tool is MerCruiser p/n 91- 89865. It is used to install both prop seals and the bearing cup into the bearing carrier on Bravo 1 drives.

Bravo 1 is the only drive where the prop seals are installed from the inside out. You cannot use the fishline cutter seal on this drive.

Slide the first new seal onto the longer end of the tool and drive it in to the correct depth, then slide the second seal onto the shorter end of the tool and drive it in to the correct depth.

This tool will fit Bravo 1 only.

TR & Bravo Two - Prop Seal Driver

This tool is MerCruiser p/n 91- 55916. It is used to install both prop seals into the bearing carrier on all TR & Bravo 2 drives.

You can use (1) standard seal and (1) fishline cutter seal on both of these drives.

Slide the first new seal onto the longer end of the tool and drive it in to the correct depth, then slide the second seal onto the shorter end of the tool and drive it in to the correct depth.

This tool will fit TR & Bravo 2 only.
