Hinge Pin Stuff
12 Point Hinge Pin Tool This tool is MerCruiser p/n 91-78310. It will fit the hinge pins in the gimbal ring on all #1 MerCruiser outdrives made after 1975 including Alpha One, Generation II and all Bravos. This tool comes from GLM Marine : Order # 8310
This is MerCruiser p/n 17-77039. It was used from approximately 1965 - 1975 to secure the 5/8 pull dowel pin pictured below. After installing this pin, the end is bend over from behind to prevent the sharp point from cutting into the u-joint bellows while turning. These are sold in a package of 1 each. : Order # 7039
This is MerCruiser p/n 17-77361A1. It was used from approximately 1965 - 1975. It is 5/8 in diameter and has a 1/4-28 threaded hole in the end which is used for slide hammer removal. The tiny hole in the end is used for turning the dowel to align it for the 1/8 nail. These are sold in a package of 1 each. : Order # 7361
This puller is used to pull your 5/8 dowels shown above using your slide hammer. Screw the small end of this tool into the 1/4-28 threaded end of your pull dowel and thread your slide hammer rod into the other end. Your slide hammer must have a 5/8-18 thread on the end of the rod. Wt 1 1/2 Lbs. : Order # 0050
This puller is used to pull your 5/8 dowels shown above using the bushing, thrust washer and nut ( included ). Screw the small end of this tool into the 1/4-28 threaded end of your pull dowel. Slide on the bushing & thrust washer. Thread on the nut and use a 15/16 wrench to pull the dowel. No slide hammer is required to use this tool. Wt 1 1/2 Lbs. : Order # 0060

This is MerCruiser p/n 10-86801. It is used only on Bravo gimbal rings. The threads are 5/8 -18 and the head diameter is .867 This item is sold in a package of 1 each and now comes from Sierra Marine. : Order # 1706
This is MerCruiser p/n 23-847637. One of these bushings is pressed into each side of Bravo gimbal rings which have trim sender units mounted to the sides of the gimbal ring. This tool is used to remove and install the (2) bushings located in the sides of Bravo gimbal rings which have trim sender units mounted to the sides of them. This tool is for driving in the bushings with a hammer. We also have a tool kit which will also remove and install the bottom bushings. It is threaded and easier to use. Click
